Travel to Lund
We look forward to welcoming you to Lund, Sweden! We encourage participants to opt for train travel or other low-carbon means of transportation.
By train:
Located in southern Sweden, Lund is well-connected to continental Europe (via the Öresund Bridge) and Scandinavia, through an extensive rail network. Also, the Lund Central Station is centrally located, making it easy to reach the conference venue and accommodations. In order to secure a train ticket, we encourage booking your ticket well in advance of the conference.
From Hamburg and Berlin, both Snälltåget and SJ run direct night trains to Lund on a daily basis. For detailed schedules, ticket bookings, and travel information, visit snälltåget.se and sj.se.
Snälltåget (as of June 2024):
- Berlin Hbf 21:10 – Hamburg Hbf 23:59 – Lund C 08:30
- Lund C 21:05 – Hamburg Hbf 05:30 – Berlin Hbf 07:46

Another option is to travel by overnight or day train from Hamburg to Copenhagen (see bahn.de for schedules, fares and to buy tickets). From Copenhagen, several direct trains to Lund are leaving every hour. The journey takes around 35-40 minutes, tickets can be bought at Copenhagen Central Station.
There are daily overnight and day trains also from the north (e.g. Stockholm). For schedules and ticket bookings visit snälltåget.se and sj.se.

By bus:
From Hamburg and Berlin, there are daily buses running to Lund, both overnight and in daytime. Visit global.flixbus.com for schedules, fares and to buy tickets.
By air:
If train travel isn't feasible, Lund can also be accessed via Copenhagen Airport, which is approximately 30 minutes away by train. However, we encourage participants to consider the environmental impact of air travel and opt for train connections whenever possible.
Local transportation:
Once you arrive at Lund Central Station, local transportation options are readily available, including buses and a tram. For timetables and to buy tickets, it is helpful to download the Skånetrafiken app. It is also possible to buy tickets (by credit card) on the bus or tram.
Lund is a small city, so it’s easy to get around by foot. Besides, Lund is bicycle-friendly with well-maintained bike lanes. We’re currently looking into possibilities to accommodate rental bikes for conference attendees - stay tuned!
Traveling far?
The SCORAI Europe Conference 2025 is a fully-hybrid event (with the exception of the workshops and the social program). If you are located far away from Lund, an alternative to traveling to the conference is therefore to join the conference online.
Registration for the conference (online and onsite) opens in November 2024.
