Call for Sessions

Mainstreaming Sustainable Consumption

Much is known about the problems of current consumption patterns and levels, as well as the potential remedies. However, successful examples of mainstreaming sustainable consumption remain scarce. This conference focuses on the challenges, strategies, and successes of mainstreaming sustainable consumption.

We invite interested researchers and practitioners to submit proposals for conference sessions.

Call opens: February 1, 2024
Call closes: April 30, 2024

The conference allows for three types of session proposals.

Scientific sessions

This format describes the ‘classic’ scientific conference format. You suggest the session theme, and you agree to act as the session chair. The session will then be populated by speakers submitting an extended abstract to the open call for abstracts. You will also be offered to be part of the scientific review process to choose the presenters of the session, though you are not obliged to act as reviewer for this session. (The main review process will be conducted by the conference’s scientific committee.) Requirements to suggest session:

  • Title of the session
  • Abstract (provide a brief explanation for the session rational), max. 500 words

Curated sessions

This format describes a pre-planned session in which you not only suggest the session theme and act as a chair, you also invite and coordinate all session speakers. This implies that you have more control over the session content, but also more responsibility for the session organisation. A curated session can either only include presentations and Q&A, or also/instead have a panel discussion. Requirements to suggest session:

  • Title of the session
  • Abstract (provide a brief explanation for the session rational), max. 500 words
  • Organiser/s (short bio)
  • Session structure (number of participants, indicative names of participants and preliminary titles of presentations - to be confirmed upon acceptance)

Workshop sessions

This format is open and allows for creative, interactive set-ups. Workshop sessions can focus on science-practitioner exchange, big ideas, or exploring specific tools (games, etc). The format could be group discussions, world cafes, round tables, brainstorming sessions, game sessions, etc. Requirements to suggest session:

  • Title of the session
  • Abstract (provide a brief explanation for the session rational), max. 500 words
  • Organiser/s (short bio)
  • Session structure (describe how the workshop will look like, are there limits on the number of participants)
  • Type of support needed from the conference organisers

We welcome both theoretical and empirical contributions. Conference (sub)themes include, but are not limited to:

To submit your session proposal, you need to create an account here.

This account will be your conference account, and allow you to later also submit abstracts, register for the conference, and curate your personal conference schedule.

Go to 'Create account and submit contribution'. After having created your account you will be able to submit your session proposal.

Should you experience any difficulties creating your account and submitting your abstract, please get in touch with the Conference Planning Committee: scorai2025 [at] iiiee [dot] lu [dot] se (scorai2025[at]iiiee[dot]lu[dot]se)
